HAM2008C01

AES/EBU audio front-end with normalizer for the AUDIOCHAIN bus of the TL2000 terminal line

The HAM2008C01 module is an audio processing module that automatically manages the level of eight audio signals. It has been designed to function as a stand-alone module working with the four AES/EBU frames it receives from the front panel or in conjunction with one of the TL2000 terminal line frame synchronizers to process the embedded audio in the video.
In order to provide this functionality the backplane of the UR2000 mounting frame has the AUDIOCHAIN bus, which is a pair of connection lines between adjacent slots for transportation of up to 16 audio channels in one direction and 16 channels in the other direction between two or more modules located in adjacent slots.
The HAM2008C01 provides a eight channel audio processor that measures the loudness of the received signals as recommended in document ITU-R BS.1770-4 and adapts its level in order to achieve the user defined loudness. These processes are performed whether the audio channels are monaural, are associated as stereo pairs or are grouped forming 5.1 multichannel audio.
In addition to the audio processing functions described above, the HAM2008C01 also features a routing switch for audio pairs which allows their reassignment and sum. Additionally, if the module detects AES pairs carrying non-PCM audio (according to the standard SMPTE 337 M) then these pairs are not processed or modified.
