The USW2000C01 is an automatic changeover module for 12G/3G/HD/SD-SDI digital video.
The USW2000C01 module features two 12G/3G/HD/SD-SDI digital video inputs and four outputs, as well as a loop-through analog reference input. One of the outputs is protected by a bypass device that activates if the module stops working or if the power supply fails.
The outputs are synchronized to a reference signal, and either of the two inputs can be routed to any of them. Switching between the inputs is seamless.
The module supports four possible reference signal sources: an analog reference signal, the SDI signal input selected on output 1, a reference signal from the internal bus when a module capable of generating this type of signal is installed in the same chassis, or an internal free-run reference generated by its internal oscillator.
The USW2000C01 includes multiple fault detectors, including signal presence, format, black, freeze, predefined video pattern, EDH/CRC, and audio silence and overload. It is possible to both inhibit and delay the activation and deactivation of all these faults.
The USW2000C01 offers three user-selectable switching modes: Automatic, Semiautomatic, and Manual.
In any of its operating modes, the module switches between two states. Each of them has an associated input-to-output assignment map that the user can choose from among four possible options: (IN1 > OUT1, OUT2), (IN1 > OUT1, IN2 > OUT2), (IN2 > OUT1, IN1 > OUT2), and (IN2 > OUT1, OUT2).
The module can be configured to lock smoothly to the selected reference input in order to avoid discontinuities in the output video after a temporary loss of reference.
The module features an On Screen Display (OSD) that allows the status of the fault detectors and the input-output assignment to be shown directly on the output signal image.
